I love and so appreciate this, Kate. It's been a brutal year and a half, especially the last 6 months. I've found a lot of these things to be true for me as well, however I need to follow your example and replace the hustle (since I've basically given up on a lot of things) with healthy routines.

I think it’s a normal phase. I did that for 2 years probably until I couldn’t!

I love this. I’m so happy to see you become more at ease with the ebb and flow. It’s been a roller coaster the last few years for sure. 💙

What a great list! I love the one about romanticizing the life you have. I have a sign in my house (used to be in my office) that says “I still remember the days I prayed for what I have now.” And I need that reminder. Also it’s great to have hobbies with your hands too, for us in our head people! I’ve been doing watercolor painting which is so unlike me, not something I show to anyone but my family, and not something I’m perfectionistic about. I just do it for fun!

I love watercolor for you! A different way to use your creative brain.

I've moved into a season of life with parents aging and dying as well as trying to raise teens and college kids, and my old ways of thinking about things just don't work anymore. I appreciate you saying that grief is maybe not an aberrant pop-up to be dealt with and then I move on, but something that is with me that won't just disappear if I do everything right.

It’s a truth I wish wasn’t so but it’s good to have the right expectation to not get blindsided by it each time.
